Elmbrook Braves Youth Baseball Travel Team – Parent Information
The Elmbrook Braves is a competitive youth baseball travel program that provides young athletes with an opportunity to grow their skills, build lasting friendships, and enjoy the game at a higher level. Designed for players who are passionate about baseball and looking for more than just a recreational season, the Braves offer an unforgettable experience that combines player development, teamwork, and community spirit.
Program Overview:
Age Groups & Tryouts: Players try out each year to earn a spot on one of the Braves teams in their age group. Many players stay with the same core team for several years, creating tight-knit friendships and strong team chemistry.
Tournament Play: Braves teams typically play in weekend tournaments from May through July. Most tournaments are held within a 45-minute to one-hour drive, making travel manageable for families while still providing a competitive environment.
Training & Practices: Offseason winter practices are held in Pewaukee, focusing on skill development and team preparation. During the season, weather permitting, outdoor practices are held regularly at Mitchell Park.
Partnership with Elmbrook Little League: The Braves work in close coordination with Elmbrook Little League, helping to foster a strong baseball culture in the community. This collaboration ensures that players stay connected to their local league while getting the chance to compete at a higher level.
Community & Character: The Braves are about more than just baseball. The program promotes sportsmanship, teamwork, and leadership. Many families find that the friendships formed on and off the field become lasting connections throughout the community.
Being part of the Elmbrook Braves is a rewarding experience for both players and their families, offering memorable summers filled with great baseball, team bonding, and personal growth.
Tryout Information Overview:
Coaching Request: We can create as many teams as we have coaches and interested players who are talented enough to form competitive teams. We are actively looking for coaches at the U8 and U9 but may need coaches for U10-U12. You do not need advanced baseball knowledge to coach Braves, and each team will have multiple coaches to spread out the duties. If your son is interested in trying out for the Braves, please strongly consider coaching. If you are interested in coaching, please contact John Hedrick or Tom Montgomery in advance of tryouts (contact information below).
Tryouts: Any player who will participate in EBLL in 2027 is eligible to tryout. Since there are limited roster spots, not everyone will make a Braves team.
